Alex Bishop - Head of Guitar

Alex is a seasoned guitar instructor with a rich teaching experience spanning nine years. Throughout his journey, he has cultivated an extensive and diverse clientele, enhancing his teaching prowess to exceptional levels. Specialising in the realm of rock guitar, Alex crafts tailored lessons that cater to individuals of all ages, guiding them to excel in graded examinations and master their favourite pieces. His tenure of teaching guitar within primary schools across London is punctuated by accolades for his patience and adept delivery of clear, concise instructions.

Beyond his role as an educator, Alex holds a prominent position within the vibrant London music scene as a sought-after guitarist. He has appeared in Total Guitar, Guitar World, Prog, Classic Rock and Kerrang magazine. His compositions have garnered international acclaim, with reviews featured in global media outlets and airplay on radio stations across the globe.

Amy Austen - Head of Piano and Singing

Amy is a talented musician and composer with a degree in Film Music Composition from Leeds Conservatoire. With a strong passion for musical theatre, she’s now about to embark on her MA in Musical Theatre Performance at Trinity Laban.

Amy brings a wealth of experience to her teaching, having worked with both children and adults in vocal and piano lessons, specializing in pop and musical theatre. She’s led a children’s choir in Kent for three years and even ran a musical theatre choir at Leeds University. Her experience also extends to early years music, where she’s led engaging sessions for children under 5.

Whether you’re looking to hone your piano skills or explore the world of singing, Amy’s vibrant energy and deep love for music make her a perfect guide on your musical journey.

Nick Oakes - Head of Drums

Nick is a passionate drummer and educator with over 18 years of experience. Through playing a variety of genres, including rock, jazz, funk, blues, afro-beat, and hip hop, Nick has developed a well-rounded approach that caters to drummers of all levels and styles. Nick holds a Distinction level Grade 8 in Drums, as well as an Honours Degree in Music Production. Professional accolades include appearances in Kerrang! and Classic rock magazine as well as playing professional shows across the country, and recording in multiple studios. 

Nick curates his lessons to be supportive and engaging where students can explore various styles, improve their technique, and develop musicality. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an advanced player, all are welcome!
