Instrumental Lessons
We offer individual and group lessons for guitar, ukulele, piano, drums, violin and voice. Instrumental lessons have proven positive effects on children, such as boosted confidence, enhanced social skills, patience and perseverance and can even improve academic performance.
At Riffmasters we strive for musical excellence. Many of our past students have gone on to receive musical scholarships and distinctions in graded exams.
Clubs and Workshops
School Bands
Schools bands are a great way for students to pool their musical talents. Students are selected from their instrumental lessons and form bands. They meet weekly under a teacher’s supervision to prepare songs for performances. At the end of each term, they showcase their hard work in front of an audience.
Our service differs from competitors in that band sessions complement instrumental lessons. Students learn pieces with their instrumental teacher first and then practice them as a band with their band instructor, enabling them to perform more advanced pieces.
Guitar and Ukulele Ensamble
Students who are enrolled in guitar or ukulele lessons are invited to attend this weekly club. During the sessions students are taught new collaborative pieces, compose songs in groups and practise for ensemble performances. Each term they then perform these pieces in front of a live audience.
Choir/Singing Club
The Choir Club, an inclusive after-school activity for passionate singers, offers a diverse repertoire of songs under the guidance of a dedicated music teacher.
Each session focusses on developing vocal techniques, harmony skills, and performance confidence, fostering a supportive environment for collaborative music-making.
Participants showcase their progress by performing in front of a live audience at the end of each term, celebrating their hard work and building stage presence and self-assurance.
Music Technology Workshop
Our musical technology workshops are an introduction to recording and making music digitally. Over the course of a term students are guided through making an original composition from scratch. Under the instruction of one of our teachers students are taught how to compose music in garage band and record live instruments.
